In regards to TC3 Geotechnical information and reports is this shared among the entities?, I know that there is an overall Geotechnical data base that is being added to daily and one wonders why insurers still engage their own Geotechs.

In The Know advises:
The Canterbury Geotechnical Database is a mechanism for geotechnical engineers to share testing data relating to sub-soil ground conditions. For example, any Geotechnical reports commissioned by IAG are added to the database.
Although all insurers and consulting engineers subscribe to that database, they still need to interpret that information in order to design suitable foundations.
